I am a Ph.D Candidate in the Statistics Department at UC Santa Cruz, advised by Zehang Li and Paul Parker. My research focuses on small area estimation, surveys, and model validation — see the Research page for papers and preprints.

Before grad school, I got a B.A. in Statistics from UC Berkeley and spent several years working in clean energy finance, followed by a shorter stint in low-income healthcare administration for the State of California. See my CV for the full arc.

Outside of work, I like to meditate, travel, cook, cafe, laugh, and spend time with my wife Laura — this site is a mostly professional but occasionally personal place where I write about both.
